If you’re like me, you have tried and will continue to try lots of eczema cures. Some of them will be very good and others will be a waste of time.

If you are going to use a change in diet to eliminate your eczema, it is important that you find a way of monitoring your progress.

Suppose you hit against a stumble. For example you might find that you have a very bad reaction to peanuts. But you are fine with walnuts and cashew.

The best way to test new foods and to gauge reactions to your delicate skin is to keep an daily journal.

A journal does not have to be complicated. If you make a note using one or two sentences on a daily basis, this should suffice.

What you need to note is what new foods or treatments you are trying out and what, if any effect these newbies are having on your skin and on your general health.


Any new foods you try should ideally have a positive effect on your general health first and on your eczema skin too.

Making a note of your feelings and your general well being is important too. Some foods can give you more energy, some foods might make you feel fatigued.

It is important to make a note of all the little changes when you are trying to find a cure for your eczema.

Find a used or partially used spiral notebook or loose-leaf binder for keeping your notes. You should aim to make a regular entries. One or two sentences each day will suffice.

Make a note of new treatments and new ideas that you are testing. Monitor your skin’s response and make notes. For instance when I gave up eating foods containing white flour I noticed that my skin did not irritate me so much in the mornings.

As well as the external and physical changes that you might notice, you shoul make a note of emotional changes too. You might for instance notice that after eating bean sprouts in your lunch or dinner that you are not fatigued and feel full of energy and optimism.

Make a note of emotional changes as well in your journal.

Go back and review your journal writing at the end of each week. A quick review may highlight regular patterns or unusual occurrences.
